
This Jujamcyn theater originally opened in 1925 as the Forrest Theater; became the Coronet in 1945, and then in 1959 was renamed the Eugene O'Neill Theater in honor of the American playwright. Seating capacity is 1,108. The interior of the theater was designated a New York City landmark in December 1987. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District, home to over 40 theaters within a 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd Street to 42nd Street, between 6th and 8th Avenues).
