
The Neil Simon Theatre, obviously named for America's most successful playwright, was opened in 1927 as the Alvin Theatre and renamed in 1983. This Nederlander theatre is a mid-to-large-sized theatre with seating capacity of 1,297. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District, home to over 40 theaters within a 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd Street to 42nd Street, between 6th and 8th Avenues).
