
This theater first opened in 1924 as the 46th Street Theatre. It was renamed The Richard Rodgers Theatre in 1990 to honor the legendary composer. This Nederlander mid-to-large-sized theatre seats 1,319. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District, home to over 40 theaters within a 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd Street to 42nd Street, between 6th and 8th Avenues).
