A Jujamcyn theatre, the St. James is another of the prize musical houses on Broadway. This theatre was built in 1927, originally named the Erlanger Theatre. Seating capacity is 1,623. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District, home to over 40 theaters within a 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd Street to 42nd Street, between 6th and 8th Avenues).
