Midtown Manhattan East - New York

Midtown is where you can find a number of the citys most well known landmarks.
Walk along 5th Avenue for some of the best shopping in the world, names like Bloomingdales, Tiffany, Saks, are found here. Across the street is the largest Catholic Cathedral in the states, Saint Patricks Cathedral.
There are a few good museums you wont want to miss in this area, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Television and Radio which can be found on 5th Ave. and 53rd Street - houses a great collection of vintage media.
Some of the other landmark buildings in Midtown are the Empire State Building-(buy tickets to the observation deck), the 77 story Chrysler Building and the beautifully restored Grand Central Terminal.
Murray Hill area is a quieter residential area near the Midtown tunnel. The area has many nice brownstones and has some good moderately priced hotels. To the east you will find the United Nations building complex and the tramway to Roosevelt Island(featured in the movie "Spiderman") .
The Morgan Library located on 36th Street offers a view of some very rare manuscripts.
