New York City Food Trucks Guide
FIND NYC STREET FOOD OPTIONS
In the past several years, food trucks have become extremely popular and, what once was considered a
risky dining choice, is now a most coveted opportunity to enjoy an eclectic mix of culinary
delights; from down-home to gourmet, American to Cambodian, and everything in between. On the
streets of New York, you’ll see workers on their lunch hours, parents with their kids in tow and
city visitors clamoring to locate their favorite food truck. Your best experiences will include
great street food along with great service. The personalities and stories of the food truck vendors
contribute to the whole experience of food truck dining.
We can partially thank social media outlets for the rise in popularity of the food truck. Twitter is
key to knowing where a specific food truck will be each day. Most vendors will tweet their location
for the day and may post specials or even secret passwords. They will also tweet if they’ve closed
due to weather or other events. Substantially all food truck vendors participate in Twitter and
Facebook, and there are new such tools evolving all the time.
Needless to say, there is a lot of competition in the food truck business. How do you choose a
specific food truck for your next meal? You may want to simply seek out one with a long line.
Another option is to check out the slew of food truck blogs which have popped up all over the
Internet, where you’ll find reviews and recommendations. (We’ve included links for a few of these
blogs in our “Additional Resources” section.) You can also find the best of New York by looking at
how many Twitter followers they have. But don’t just take someone else’s word for it – if it sounds
good to you, give it a try!
