Central Park splits the Upper East and Upper West Side. The Upper East Side is home to many of the city museums. Above the park is Harlem and the Bronx. Midtown covers the area from Central Park South down to about 34th street. Most of the hotels and shopping are here. The Theater District is, you guessed it, an area within Midtown that hosts the majority of the Broadway entertainment venues. Below Midtown is the Flatiron and Gramercy park district. To the west is Chelsea formerly known as the meat packing district.

Below the Flatiron District there are many ethnically diverse neighborhoods, including Bohemian Greenwich Village, the East Village, SoHo (South of Houston Street), the Lower East Side, Little Italy, Chinatown, and the very trendy Tribeca (TRIangle BElow CAnal Street).

Lower Manhattan consists of the Wall Street Financial District, South Street Seaport, Battery Park and former home of the World Trade Center now "Ground Zero". From Battery Park you can catch the Ferry to Staten Island, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Located north of Manhattan Island and south of Westchester County is the Bronx. There are also many wonderful sights in Brooklyn and Queens.
